Right now, members of Congress are pushing 13 bills that would strip away the District’s right to self-governance. These bills would let politicians from outside DC decide how we run our schools, courts, policing, housing, and even who represents us in government.

More than 700,000 residents live in DC. We pay taxes. We serve our country, and elect our own leaders. But unlike every other community in America, our laws can be overturned by Congress.
