Motivating voter registration, education and involvement is a primary objective of Ward 2 Democrats. To give this important function the importance and focus it deserves, we will declare the month of May in each election year “Voter Registration Month.”

To register to vote in the District of Columbia, you must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a District of Columbia resident at least 30 days preceding the next election
  • Be at least 18 years old on or preceding the next election
  • Not be in jail for a felony conviction
  • Not have been judged “mentally incompetent” by a court of law
  • Not claim the right to vote anywhere outside D.C.
